Hello
I have noticed the top of the dash in my 1750 always slopes down front to back.
I tried to square it up by loosening the side nuts and front nuts . It is too tight on the sides to fit flat due to no gap between "A" pillar padded covers and the dash top???so cant get it to sit flat ( front sits up too high at windscreen and guage area of dash sits low , resting on steering wheel column surround!)
..it appears to fit with A pillar covers removed, tested quickly .
why would that be??

The A pillar covers may have deformed some? I haven't done a dash on a 1750 GTV but on a 2000 and on Super, TI, Berlina, those covers are often a firm jam-fit (as in shove them in hard to align). Some are fiberglass, some plastic, after 50 years I can imagine they don't fit as the did from new.

Yes there is a difference , it becomes more noticible at the front of the dash, where it meets the windscreen . The tight sides mean i cant push the dash up to sit flat, causing the front to sit quite high. will get a photo...
