Tomorrow a Pirelli lorry (Lorry = English for truck) will turn up at Longstone Tyres with the first delivery of the new batch of the 165HR400 Cinturato that was OE on your cars. These have been out of stock for a while and will be available through the Pirelli Collezione distributors around the world.

The distributors are listed on here. (worth watching this film too. it is a ace bit of period advetising)

We do have the Michelin X as well, but that isn't really a sports car tyre. The Michelin X doesn't have the H speed rating either. However they do offer a white wall for those who want to make their beautiful European sports car look vulgar. (I am not knocking the Michelin X. It is a great tyre. That is what i would fit on a Citroen Traction. However fitting white walls on European sports cars is vulgar, though it does help me sell more expensive tyres.)

Nope.

Always been H rated this century at least. (They did also sell both back in the day. probably the same tyre though).

Replacing the Michelin ax’s for Pirelli Cinturato’s, CA67, 165HR400, is one of the best things I have done for my 102 Spider. I am driving with them for three years now. The difference is enormous! The Michelin’s give you as a driver a rather disconnected feeling on the road. The Pirelli’s are much more informative in curves, when braking, in the wet…..they have much more grip too. They look better too

I haven’t bought tires for a few years, but the last several sets from Longstone arrived quickly, the shipping price hinted at a special rate for tires, and I don’t recall any duty. The net-net price was fine. A net-net compari to Lucas slightly favored Longstone, but it wasn’t much. I favored Dougal because of his relentless enthusiasm.

I generally found that tires from Longstone had spent less time languishing on the shelf as well.

The current USD/BP exchange rate can’t hurt, but I doubt it makes a big difference.

Might too far out for me. I'll let you know if I need them earlier (assuming my car is ready), and if so I might have to buy them from you. I need them in Mexico (but they need to go trough the US due to local tax issues importing from the UK

If it's over a certain amount you'll have to pay duties, I think $800 or $1000?

I don't know the exact details, but I know my inexpensive orders from the UK never get dinged for tax but my large ones often do. I think it's 10%?

I'll find out, but that is easily solved by splitting it into 2 orders
