The L started to miss the other day and we checked the spark. One of the cylinders had a poor spark so I took the cap off and found that there was a carbon trail on the outside of the cap. Aha I said thats it and put on a new cap and rotor. Still missing so I checked the wires carefully and then removed the cap again Everything looks OK but it still misses at low RPM. Any ideas? Has new wires, plugs, rotor & cap. Milage about 130K.

Carefully as with a meter? What is resistance of wire in question? Should be about 2.5 kohm aka 2500 ohms.

Carefully as to position in cap. The new wires were installed about 9 mo ago (late last summer at about 125k). I placed the wires in the new cap from top to bottom while the old cap was still in place. I did not check resistance since the wires were so new.

Well, check resistance on dead cylinder wire now and also check sparkplug and connector to that cylinders injector.
