Hi,

After several question posts on this and lots of hours and tool testing, there does seem to be a way of removing these intact.

What has worked for me is 'cheese wire' - very thin (sub 1mm steel). Brilliant at cutting through the bonding glue. The breaking issue with this method is the teeth on the stainless steel trim that tend to snag and break the wire.

'Gum shield' the trim teeth with thin metal. I made one by cutting a drink can and shaping it to fit. Shaped plastic could do the job too. It doesn't take much - just enough to momentarily hold the cheese wire away from the trim teeth.

Wish I had tried this before cracking the front screen. At least I now have the rear screen out in one piece.

Hope this helps.
