164 Ls Ecu

hi !!
I have a manual trans. '95 164 Super (24v) in South America, and need an engine ECU.

Can somebody tell me where I can find a good working used one?

I see LENARD has an LS ECU for sale. http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/showthread.php?t=36937&highlight=164+ecu

The big question is: are there any differences between my "european" model(actually it is a Brasil special edition made for the south american market - motor version M7 - 64306 -) and the american model? will check engine light come on if I install that one? Would I need to make any mods regarding the security starting CODE?

Also, his is 94, and my car is 95... any diff?

if I'm not mistaken, according to bosch online catalog, his is alfa part number 60565486
acording to eper, mine is 46443425

my vin is 6319464 if you need to check

please help!! can't find an ecu over here and I'm travelling to USA in 2 weeks!!

What is Bosch Part number on ECU? That is what you need to know.

Ecu

Check with APE (Alfa Parts Exchange) here in the US.
They found me one a couple of years ago when mine failed.

I have them for all cars if you need one.
95 is same is 94
Should be:
0.261.200.663
Check it out first. I am not 100% if it is the same or not but I am taking a wild guess and saying it may be.

Sorry Jason, but 1994 and 1995 are NOT the same- at least in the USA.

1995 is a different part number and programming due to the EGR valve and blower set-up.

For Europe, they may be the same though...

Sorry I should have clarified I was Not talking about USA cars. European and ALL the rest of the world 1994-1995 use the same ECU. But we will find out if BR is different.

One clue I have that it may be the same as the 1994 USA and 1994/95 rest of world ECU is that it uses the same AFM as 94-95 USA models 24V. P/N 60602177

ok, had time today to check the ecu's 10 digit bosch number. It is:

0 261 203 288

For what I researched, I must replace the ecu with another one with the same number.

will I be able to get this kind of ecu from USA?

Didn't we cover this before and verify USA 95 models use 0 261 203 287?

well, partially. It was mentioned on this post http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/showthread.php?t=36357&highlight=super+ecu that the ...287 was the ecu for the 95 LS.

however mine is ...288, and I don't know the difference between both, nor if the ...288 ecu is also commonly used on 95 LS in USA...

Wonder if 288 difference over 287 is security code? How does security code system work it is different from regular key fob arming?
