this may be a stupid question, and we (my father an I) have consulted another fellow alfista with the same question.

My father's 164 L is having engine problems (i dont know the specifics of the problem), my father thinks its easier to just drop a new engine in. He is wondering if the engine comes from a manual car will it still work with his auto?

We (my father, myself, and our friend Max) all think that it doesn't matter. (I mean an engine is separate from the transmission....)

i hate to ask such a noob question, but we just wanted to double check.
Thank you

I just finished this swap. The only things that need to be changed are the flywheel and the throttle pivot assembly where the throttle cable hooks on. The automatic assembly has a place for the transmission kick down cable that is missing on the manual. Other than that it is plug and play.
