Would like to replace the brake lines that go over the fuel tank on a 1994 series 2 164, UK spec.
Has anyone managed to do this without dropping the tank?
If the tank is dropped, how to make sure the new lines are not squished by it when bolted back up?
Probably over thinking things again but never hurts to ask. Know there are some geniuses on this forum who might just have some magic tip or trick to make it all less painful.
That's interesting. Both of mine go over the tank. Love you idea of running both around though. Think going to have a go. Might use a can of compressed air to blow through and see which pipe end reacts the other side.
Good luck! Owning this car and interacting on this forum it now all makes a lot more sense about why Alfa Romeo was in such financial trouble so many times. The fact that so many little but significant parts are different between the 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder models of this car makes me wonder how in the world they ever made a profit.
Well spotted and thanks for the reminder. My ex-wife did that. Going to drop a new tyre on the still round spare wheel and put that on instead.
