If you were to rebuild a 1600 engine - what would you do - for maximum power (while retaining streetability)

Assume all the basic stuff is done (bearings, head, valves, chains, pistons & liners) and some slightly hotter cams are put in?

Beyond that - machining 1750 liners to fit the 1600 block? High compression 1600 pistons (which don't seem to be available)?

What else? I want to do this once and properly?

Thanks!

You may be able to get a set of either 11:1 or 11.5:1 JE Forged Pistons from Paul Spruell (here in Atlanta, Georgia) or perhaps from JE directly. Paul Spruell's website (which he says is now outdated) is paulspruell.com
