Hi All, I have an opportunity to buy a collection of 102 parts in an all or nothing purchase to get the 105 parts I want.
I dont own a 102 convertible, so I'd sell them to recover some costs. The valuable stuff I would try to sell is a removable hard top, hood, doors, all the glass, 2000 oil pumps and distributors, 2000 engine and trans. Given the weight of these items and age, is there a demand for these parts that shipping them to buyers is worthwhile? No chrome items, just whats mentioned.

There are always requests for 102 parts that you list. hard top, hood, doors, all the glass, oil pumps, distributors, engines and transmissions. However, I am in Seattle. Might be easy to drive up (or you down) and deliver the same. How much are you asking?

I've been tangentially involved with this "opportunity to buy a collection of 102 parts" since Richard Jarvis passed in 2006. I helped Adrian Ratcliff with trying to help the estate to clean out the garage (back then, I put together an inventory spreadsheet for the probate valuation that the estate still seems to be using now). After the estate practically gave away the most valuable stuff to people who told them lies (and possibly took advantage of them while they were still in shock from Richard's passing), the estate became really cautious.

Not much has happened in 16+ years since then. What I consider reasonable offers for 102 and 106 parts (by myself and others) were refused. Stuff that belonged together (like 3 Weber DCOE9 carbs) was split and used and/or sold separately. Tire kickers and gold diggers showed up, thinking they might score big time. Idiots showed up and paid a fortune for junk. Greed on buyer and seller side has been problem since the beginning, and I don't believe this did, or ever will, change.

So, don't hold your breath -- and don't expect great discoveries here. I'm looking forward to seeing @johnnyd's pictures.

Very interesting background on this. I wonder if its the same guy / stuff, please let me know, it would explain everything I've encountered on this.
It is from an estate, but I know almost nothing of the situation, timeline, etc.
I got the 105 parts I wanted, and passed on the collection of 102 bits. Cautious is how I'd describe the seller, Murray. He can be reached at [email protected] for these parts. His price on the whole lot was 5K CAD, located in Vancouver. For a 102 he's got a few diffs, doors, hood, trunk, hubcaps, a couple motors and gearboxes, lots of other bits, front seats, suspension bits, and the hardtop. Please contact him for any details, pics etc.
