The tach in my Sept. 1960 Veloce Spider has a red zone starting at about 6700 rpm. I thought Veloce tachs had no redline; maybe added by longtime owner's mechanic? Or do I have it wrong?

Yes, because of that I was sure it was a Veloce tach, but had not seen the red zone before and wondered if it was original.

Redline

I believe it is original;). I have seen early Veloce tach's marked and unmarked. By the time the new instruments were in the later veloces, they were all marked:cool:.

Ve,oce Redline

My old 58 750F had the redline as shown in the picture. I think that the later Normals did not have a redline--but I have been wrong before--according to my wife!!!

Thanks all. Not that I was going to test Les Hurlock's engine to that speed in any case...
