6C 2500 Avanzato Tipo 1950
Sold directly to Melbourne company Bloch & Behrens Ltd. in 1950. This car is Chassis no. 917077. Owned for many years by Mr. Wilton then sold to the Alessi family located in the Griffith area of NSW. They also owned a 6C Freccia D'Oro. Both cars were purchased by Ern Stock around 1976-77 after I found out about the Golden Arrow. Ernie and I hired an aircraft and flew to Griffith. We decided to buy that Alfa and just before we were leaving the patriarch came out from the house and said to the son, who we were dealing with, "did you show them the Berlina?" We were led to another shed on the farm and there it was. So we arranged to buy that too. After getting it and the Golden Arrow trucked back to my workshop in Melbourne we did a lot of work on re-commissioning the Golden Arrow. The Avanzato remained untouched and in storage first at my place and then for the next 30 odd years at one of Ernie's properties. After Ernie passed away I brought this car to my place In Queensland and it is currently awaiting its turn for re-commissioning.
