Purchased in 1987, this was my high school car. After putting my foot through the floor pan, it was time to restore. Stripping, bodywork and repainting. ANSA Exhaust. Expert help and consultation with Karen MacGowan @ Alfa West over the years helped. Carb rebuild, Brake failure resulting in an accident left me rebuilding. Marriage and family put this project on hold, but now it's time for the Phoenix to rise!
1969 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce (Red)
1750, Shankle cams (as told to me by the previous owner). Weber 40DCOE4 carburetors. K&N Air filters.
Black. Stock seats, recovered with custom fabric. Industrial grade, short pile black carpet kit I made myself, close to the original carpet in look and texture. Rubber boots for shifter and E-Brake broke, and I decided to have a custom interior shop make leather boots instead, with the inner shifter boot replaced to seal the transmission. Works for me, and I like it over the rubber.
USA Headlights/tail lights, no covers. Currently red, considering blue. Stock was white.
Alpine late 70's Mini-Chassis AM/FM/Cassette (Wha?), Din out, Analog tuner dial with a custom Chrome and wrinkle finish black plate. Fit right in the dash. Never had a cover plate. Unfinished project. Considered finishing with some unobtrusive, bolt in system. Somebody cut out circles in the rear next to the shock top access plates for some round speakers. Will probably have metal put back in place and restored.
Wheel and Tire
Stock Wheels, restored and powder coated in original silver. Michelin tires.
