  1. Widow hidden in jack stand

    Off-Topic Talk
Speaking of which, When I first saw the OP's picture of the spider, I thought it was eating a mongoose.
  2. what type of O rings to seal up airconditiong hoses 84 spider

    Spider - 105 & 115 Series (1966-1994)
Behr Part number "70 132 02 012" and Alfa part number "8472" which comes in at 5/16" with eight o-rings required according to the Alfa/Behr air conditioning parts manual I have. Definitely rough measure them to see if that makes sense though.
  3. In Tank Pump Filter Question / Problem

    Spider - 105 & 115 Series (1966-1994)
I pulled the rest of mine out through polyeth. tubing. Wasn't too taxing. I couldn't find a source for submersible 1/2" hose either. Somebody locally suggested a calling a truck or tractor supply.
  4. 1989 spider dies while driving

    Spider - 105 & 115 Series (1966-1994)
You may not need the relay. The pumps are only active while cranking or running, but not with the key set to run without the car running. Let the engine cool and see if it will start up again cold.
  5. Rough idle has me puzzled

    Spider - 105 & 115 Series (1966-1994)
It's always nice to see if you tank is rusting out though. Had me puzzled for years. Hook up a T-fitting at the cold-start injector at check the pressure. If you have already checked grounds, check to make sure the fuel pump is getting power during cranking using a timing light or whatever clever...
  6. Caliper rebuild question

Suspension, Steering, Brakes, Wheels & Tires
They should press right in with the C-clamps. Hgwever, if they don't go in perfectly straight, they will not want to budge. Try clamping one edge in and using channel-lock pliers, apply pressure to the opposite side (carefully as not to marr the surface of the pistons). Do you have the bleeder...
  7. Torque Wrench

    Engine Repair, Diagnostics & Rebuilding
Craftsman torque wrenches no longer have a lifetime warranty. More like 90 days. It'd be a better idea to buy a used Snap-on and have it calibrated. They also now make many of their hand tools in Taiwan (still with the Craftsman name) but that is for another thread I suppose.
  8. Rough idle has me puzzled

    Spider - 105 & 115 Series (1966-1994)
I literally just finished dealing with this same thing. Replaced the pumps, filters, and sealed the tank. Back on the road!
  9. Spider Injection Intake Hose Clamps

    Spider - 105 & 115 Series (1966-1994)
Nice clamps! I can't stand clamps that I can't use a bit driver on. I've sacrificed my share of blood to the flathead-clamps god.
  10. Does anyone know what this is?

    Spider - 105 & 115 Series (1966-1994)
Good to collect at junkyards! I've become quite the parts hoarder (Peers out from behind pile of AAVs and AFMs).
  11. Gas Tank - New vs Restore

    Spider - 105 & 115 Series (1966-1994)
The kit will not work properly if the tank is not COMPLETELY dried between etching and sealing. This cannot be done by leaving the tank out (supposedly) for days or weeks but must be done with a blow dryer or heat gun. I used a harbor freight one and it worked wonders. Alfa Spider tanks are...
  12. Gas Tank - New vs Restore

    Spider - 105 & 115 Series (1966-1994)
I just finished sealing mine. The POR-15 kit is about $75 and is very easy to do, given you can shake a tank around for 20 minutes-3 hours at a time. You'll have to take the tank about, which isn't actually that difficult. There will be lot of left over sealer if you go this route but don't...

Here in my part of the world, if there isn't something living in your jack stand you are probably doing something wrong.

  17. 82 spider at pick&pull sacto

    Spider - 105 & 115 Series (1966-1994)
I saw this car on the P&P inventory and was thinking of road tripping for the stinky brake calipers. You'd (not) be surprised what six years of having your car parked next to the ocean in a 120+ in/yr rain would do to your brake system. I
