I did a search for oil weights, and I found a few references to 20 w 50 and 10w40 oil for 29 spider engines. I went to several autoparts, as well as searching online, and when it comes to synthic oils, there is only high mileage in 10-40, and nothing like 20-50. my engine is rebuild, and has a...
been driving a bit, after timing chain blown rebuild. getting ready to do second oil change before the cold weather. i finally have this thing running OK. i have been using syn oil, and as i don't put many miles, i guess it is expensive per mile. anyway, not very interesting.
my 2L jumped timing, even though it is a chain. a costly thing. i guess it was the tensioner, i would still rather have the chain. i would feel better, none the less.
thanks...he is repairing a timing chain disaster. and has had the engine apart...he is suposed to know what he is doing( i hope) but i will , as you suggest , wait for more chimes. we can all use as much info as is available.
i am having engine work done, (spider 2000 1992) and seems the front crank pully is leaking oil. mech has not had any luck finding one...any ideas?
i sort of remember there was a place in calf, that had salvaged parts, but have not found it again, perhaps it is gone? but i would prefer to...
the engine was idling, just went thump, and stopped, would not start. i am hoping for the best, but i am only a minor when it comes to anything like this....
i was sitting at a light, and it stopped. i had to have it towed, and the mechanic said it was the timing chain. but i have no tgotten any other info as yet, and i was hoping to be a little more equipt, with what is possible. i was told some engines have valve trouble when this happens, i do...
thanks you, i am thinking that i will be taking the chance. i have had se:wink2:veral people, in icluding a mech, that wouldn,t worry...
thanks for all the opinions guys
this doesn't have foam, it is just foil, i have one from another bottle, my fear, is it would go someplace and cover a spot, and cause a lack of oil flow..it is so thin, that if it went into the chain, it would just get chewed up....
