    I don't believe the headgaskets are a problem in these cars. Going to go with a failed thermostat. The oil is probably a leaky valve cover gasket and the half moons on the rear. Let us know what you find.

    Mine is a 1987. The cost from local locksmith was around $40, if I remember right with new keys. I dropped off the glove box cylinder and he made the keys from that.

    I took my glove box cylinder to a locksmith. He made me a key. The glove box key opens the doors, fuel, and trunk.

    Refurbishing the front bumper, changed the AC and drive belt.

    Worked some more on the AC System. Universal Condenser, some channel and flat aluminum, some rivets, new fan and SS hardware to secure it to the frame.

    I've spent this week replacing the crank gasket, distributor o ring. Replacing spark plug wires, and getting the AC done with new condenser.

    Apart from the usual suspects (air intake etc) I would check your Cat converter. Pull the 02 sensor and run a borescope camera. Mine was quite in the process of it breaking down.

    I have one in my 87 which takes the 4 point. Did not know yours was the three point. Try Rockauto. I believe I saw some 3 terminal relays for hazards there.

    Out working on the AC, replacing the condenser, new belts and repainting the front bumper and lower valance.

    Just get a pencil magnet. There is steel on the sock cap. I've dropped mine and had to fish it out.

    You may want to take a peak inside the fuel lines and check for rust. I had to have my steel lines redone in SS. Would be wise to have your fuel injectors sent to be cleaned and flow tested as well.

    I was using the Mobil 15W50, btw Napa sells their store brand 15W50, but now I am using Amsoil Premium 20W50.

    That sensor is screwed into the fan shroud. You actually helped me as well because now I know where that bullet plug goes into.
