Just saw this sorry. NO I did not, and this is a good reminder to pull the OVS and clean it and flush the oil return line out. I think a filter woiuld just plug from the crud anyway.

I swear by that penn gl4 now. my 2nd and 3rd are good but slow. redline ns sucked. the penn shows significant improvement. better than spyrax too. I will not keep harping about it because everybody thinks spyrax and redline ns are the only real options. Cant go wrong imho!!

sorry did I respond to you Paul?
I still swear by the Penn gl-4 but I'm not going to make a big fuss about it after all the drama with gear oils/synchros/etc over the years...
My 97 veloce has the typical slow to go 2nd gear and this is the best shifting the car has ever been. I do a 'one thousand one'...count to 2nd and rev match downshifts and never have issues whatsoever. I'm confident the car can be driven like this for quite some time hassle free.
Thanks and hope you are well.

Refresh my memory on this? Can you link the post? If I said that and I might have because that return line picks up the sewage of the system, it makes sense. I might opt for a "P trap and drain line. That line was so plugged with crud I'm not even sure it was draining anything unless it was regularly purged.

    Hi azALFAowl,
Just noticed your PM to me about the rear window replacement. I ended up replacing the entire top. I concluded that the tension in a properly fitting top is too great for any kind of adhesive to stand, and the bottom seam/attach point is so low that in order to actually glue a new vinyl window in, I would have to remove the old top in order to clean that section and glue the window in place.
It wasn't too difficult of a job, and the German cloth top I bought from Classic Alfa in the UK was worth every penny. Made the car look beautiful.
    Sorry for the late reply.
    Cheers, Edward

    Hiya Paul

    Wow, where to start ?

I wrote a long reply, but the message system did not like it - I saved it, so drop me an email at my home address, [email protected].com, and I'll fire it back at you that way.

    Best Regards

    Chris C.
