Slack steering

Hi there, just this eve the steering wheel on my 83 spider veloce started to feel quite sloppy / light, esp when stationary. Maybe an inch or two of give which didn't really occur before. No real problems steering, just the feel is different. Likely issue tie rods? Thanks!

I would start by checking your steering box. I had one crack and it exhibited the same symptoms. If it checks our then yes I would check tie rods next.

If it was a sudden change I'd suspect tie rod ends, yes. Get the front end up, pry and test them all, see if there's slop. Could also be worn idler box.
There is adjustment to the steering box, easy if a ZF, not as easy if a Burman. And make sure there's oil in it.
