Mac Russell Tour

I am going to this tomorrow (Thursday, November 18), but would hope to carpool with someone. I work just north of downtown, and live in White Center (W. Seattle). Any takers??

Hoo Boy, let's hear it for one of the best tours I've been on in a long while! Great turnout as well.

What a treat that was.

Hmm, wish I had taken my camera along. Mac Russell has been racing since 1962, and I think has been racing Alfas since 1971 or so. He has raced at the upper echelon, GT3, NASPORT, and Super Production since '75 or so. He and his crew chief, Ned Kohloff will forget more about racing Alfas than most of us will ever know.

They opened up their garage in Redmond for a tour. I've been in the NWARC since 1989 and have never seen them do this. We were treated to a real spectacle, and a great tech session by Mac and Ned. A dream come true for the technically inclined among us.

Mac's brother, Alan, has also been a long time racer, and his youngest daughter is currently points champion in one of their old tub GTV race cars.

We had 15-20 people there, I'd guess, which made it that much better.

Happy Birthday, Doc Doolittle!!

Wow!

Thank you for the explanation! Indeed it sounds like it was quite a special event.
