I'm right on Lake Erie, about midway between Toledo and Cleveland. I need transmission work (weak 2nd gear synchro), and some engine work.

Trail Auto .. just north of Detroit Metro airport off Telegraph Road in Dearborn Heights.. 60 minutes from Toledo. Dean Russell is the man .. Call after 9:30 AM or between 5:00 and 6:00 PM. He is the only person I would take my stuff to within 250 miles of Port Clinton...Sandusky.. Lakeside.. etc https://www.superpages.com/bp/dearbo...0115790791.htm

Divotandtralee - I see you are located in Massachusetts. Have you used Trail Alfa in Detroit? I like that they are close, but it would be great to have some personal experience information about them. What have you had them do?

I'm from Toledo. I have known and worked with Dean for almost 40 years. He is one of the few original Alfa Romeo independent garages that was allowed to purchase parts directly from Alfa and still does. He will fix anything Alfa. His shop is a little scary.. It's not a picture of organization. Don't expect to step into a laboratory but the Greek knows what he is doing and he does it right with no aftermarket crap and no excuse that Bruno did the work. He does the work himself. He and Mike Besic are the only two people outside of me who would touch anything on my cars mechanical that was outside my own capabilities. If you need a gearbox rebuild, he will do it right and explain what he did. He does these in his sleep. PS I retired to Cape Cod in 2004
