key position on the doors?

I just noticed that when I use my key for the driver side and passenger side door, they are both inserted opposite from each other.

The key when used on the driver side door is pointed up and the key used on the passenger side door is pointed down

Is this normal or did they install one of my locks wrong when I probably had worked done on my doors a few years ago?

Thanks

I had to go check on the car because I haven't locked my doors in fifteen years

My key goes into both locks either way, so not sure what to tell you. Maybe spray some graphite lock lube in there or something?

OK, thanks Tom for letting me know.

It seems that the key was just stuck, but you are correct that they do go in either way.

Thanks

Not the best choice. You want a dry lube, preferably with graphite. Buy something specifically for locks.

Without doublechecking but I believe they’re both up

Same for me on both counts! I reckon locking the doors only encourages a thief to cut the top. Anything valuable I lock in the trunk or glove box.

I actually use brake cleaner spray first (with long thin nozzle) to clean out any use of WD or sticky lube a PO might have been using...inserting the key several times and wiping it down with tissue in between

when I am happy the key comes out sort of clean, then use powder graphite from one of those small squeedgee things.
