aftermarket seats

I'm a "let's keep it stock if possible" guy but also like to improve things where it makes sense and is reversible.
My 12 yr old son wants my Spider so resale is not a factor.

I can get vinyl replacement covers and new foam for around $1000, or leather covers and foam for around $1500 give or take.
Or, for around 598 a pair, plus options, so under $1000, I can get a pair of Corbeau seats, brackets, hook up heat to them, and have inflatable lumbar.
Has anyone attempted this? If so, which color is closer to the Alfa tan?

My only thought is the seat height. If you are over 5 10 and if the bottom seat cushion is to tall you be riding too high to see out the windshield. Most people are trying to lower the seat height. Just a thought. PS I have new cushions and covers and they are very comfortable.

The problem with the spider seats is that they sit on the floor so its very difficult to find alternatives that don't make you sit too high, the gap between the tunnel and sill and b post is also very tight so many seats don't fit, I fitted new squabs and vinyl covers from CA and find the seats quite comfortable for distance work, if you want heat you can fit heated covers which work well

You might want to take a look at these. I have a pair of the BF Torino "Le Mans" seats in my Super and the seat bottoms were initially too low. I made my own seats mounts using 2x3in tubing in order to get some additional height. These seats may be a better fit for a spider than the Corbeaus. As I mentioned in the thread, there's an Austin company, GT Car seats, that sells almost identical seats.

Did you have any luck finding seats? I'm looking to replace mine in my 87 Quad. Thanks.
