@JimG here is the link, still haven't found any shop drawings with clear measurements for center grill I hate "winging it"

You are almost there...

Make a upper bracket like I showed in post #12. Tilt the bottom of the grille back so the upper surface is parallel to the ground and this should bring the little pin on the bottom of the grill within an inch or so of the bottom of the scalloped contour in the lower body pan. I used a 1/8 x 1.00 Aluminum bracket to bridge this gap. A hole and small nut & bolt to fasten to the lower pan, a slight bend and a hole for the grill pin to fit into.

I don't have a picture of the bracket, but here's one of the car where you can see the grill mounting.

I must be having a senior moment I missed post 12 on my tablet, essentially a pivoting bracket, which gives room for adjustment, thank you George !!!!

Do these help ? It's just a metal tang that is welded to the edge of the lower lip of the opening in the valance; I fitted a rubber grommet in the end of the tang, and the pin cast into the grille frame sits in the grommet.
