New Spider Veloce owner in Wisconsin🍀

Hello from Green Lake, WI!

I am the proud new owner of a 1976 Series 2A 2000 Spider Veloce finished in AR 119 Giallo Pagoda, my preferred color for the Series 2.

The car has been documented by the Centro Documentazione Alfa Romeo; it was built on November 28, 1975 in Grugliasco, delivered on Dec. 31, 1975 to the Washington, DC area and retains its original color, interior and engine.

The original owner was a ‘G-Man’ with the FBI in Washington, and I still have his FBI key fob. He must have loved this Spider- since she is incredibly stock except for a Weber carb conversion- and she traveled with him from Virginia to California during his government career...and then on to his peaceful retirement in the woods of rural Wisconsin.

Glad to be part of the family!

Grant: Congratulations! Great color, and nice to have a complete original setup for the Spider.

Enjoy these boards--I purchased my Spider in September 2017, and I've learned alot and benefitted from some great tips on these boards.

Thank you, Alfaman!

Giallo Pagoda is a vibrant, amazing 1970’s color that was only offered by Pininfarina for the Alfa Spider Junior and Spider Veloce alone between the 1970-1977 model years.

I would have been happy to find one in Rosso Alfa, but this cold chartreuse tint really suits the body lines and is evocative of chilled glasses of Limoncello on the beach...watching the sunsets on the Italian Riviera...

Once I discovered this as an original color choice on my favorite Alfa, no other would do; Giallo Pagoda or no Alfa Spider.

When I found this unmolested Series 2 Spider close to home in this wild factory color, the deal was done!

Nope...the original owner has passed on. He was an AROC member if anyone has any history on this Spider. Any leads most appreciated!

Hi Grant. I have also recently joined. I have been seaching for a S2a for a long time myself and I think I have finally found it. The catch is that the car is in Des Moines, Iowa and I am in Belgium. The plan would be to export the car to Belgium. Before closing the deal, I'd like to have a pre-purchase inspection but the companies I have found fall into 2 camps. The first are those that have a "nationwide" service. They essentially outsource the work and seem pretty superficial. The second are local but they seem to mostly specialize in American muscle cars. As Wisconsin is adjacent to Iowa, I was wondering if you used or know someone you would recommend. Any suggestions/connections would be most appreciated!

Hello in Belgium!

This is my first Alfa and I’m not terribly familiar with these cars or the AROC yet (recently joined), but the closest chapters of the Alfa Club to that car in Des Moines is Chicago, Minneapolis, or Kansas City when I did a search.

I would try to reach out to AROC members in those chapters to ask about a local pre-purchase inspection, since you will be shipping to Europe.

Best of luck...hope you find your dream Spider!
