Where does this ground strap go?

Can anyone tell me where the ground strap in the photo goes?

1971 105.62 spider. I removed my dash and found this ground strap underneath, but it isn't connected to anything. It's about 18" long, with a self-tapping screw at the mid-point. One end is attached to the firewall just to the right of the heater box. I'm thinking it must not be too important since it wasn't connected to anything, but I would like to have the car set up correctly. Thanks!

The self-tapping screw at the mid-point is a give-away that this isn't a factory part. My guess is that sometime in the past 46 years some radio installer thought such a ground strap would be a good idea. I think you can remove it without fear of breakdown or loss of concours points.
