2.0 S4 - Query on clutch master cylinder

Hi, My Spider is fitted with a Benditalia clutch master cylinder having number 1409345. The bore has a diameter of 19 mm.

I'm looking for a replacement and come across ATE 03.2417-0301.3 which has a bore of 17,45 mm. This type is being marketed as suitable for my S4.

Can anyone let me know what the bore supplied from the factory was?

Thanks.

that ATE number corresponds to what the ATE classic catalogue lists...the original alfa number is 60517115....searching that leads to the ATE number.

as long as it corresponds to the alfa part number you should be good to go.

the repair kit, if you wish to go that route is 03.0350-1701.2 (AR 60715790) short no. 9944383
I refurb mine, once I opened it to confirm the bore was good..the correct kit also has the little valve which most kits do not!

Hi Dom, I had tried to retrieve the correct AR number from the epr first but unfortunately it's not working.

So what I understand is that the ATE unit is correct (17,45 mm). Was the Benditalia possibly fitted by a PO then???

I think eper has a bug....it freezes my computor as soon as I go on the link.....not going there again, although I have been using it for years w/o problems.

I am now using 'auto-kat(dot)com', a good online spares catalogue for both US and Euro spider S4's and that seems to be bug free, although it is not interactive, so you cannot mouse over things like "more", to actually get more info...still....

OK, the auto-kat catalogue shows 2 part numbers, one for ATE and one for Benditalia (so basically whatever was on the shelf as your car passed along the assy. line....!)......when you search either of those numbers they all point to master cylinders with 17,46mm dia

could it be 17,46mm piston and 19mm bore...maybe? (as the rubber makes the seal, not the piston)
