Hi Dom, I am baffled on how this factory ground works. This wire is screwed to a speednut attached to the body. This speednut doesn't seem to make any contact with the body. Nor do the other screws/speednuts. How on earth do the lights work???
thats why the design is just plain poor!
the speednut clips onto the headlight opening, which is usually painted, so not your best surface for a ground
perhaps the speednut has contacted some bare metal at the back!
its idiotic to say the least.
this is not my car but shows the ground.
I just file some paint off under the speednut and then use some copper grease to stop it rusting.
