Bigger problems to deal with, buttttt... Darn arachnid paternal instinct... She still gets priority
I did get a couple of parallel bars welded acrosse each of the two doors but thinking may be I should put 2 long diagonal cross bar across to further support the mid-section while on the rotisserie... Not too confident about the rust-till-you-drop situation...

My Spider project has stalled, as has my life in many ways.

On Bring a Trailer there's a poster who posts an anthology of stories from his life. Last Sunday he wrote about meeting the man who sold him his MGB years before. The man had fallen on hard times, and the writer let him drive the MG to help him remember sunnier days. Here's the link:

https://bringatrailer.com/2019/05/31...rkers-mile-29/

Anyway, somehow that inspired me to write a poem, or maybe it's a song. Inspired by Richard Thompson's song MGB-GT.

Gonna Fix Her Up Someday

Got an Alfa Spider, a '73
It's become a metaphor for me
Four flat tires and faded paint
Reminds me of what I ain't.

Gonna fix her up someday
Myself too, that's what I say.

Years ago when I was young
An Alfa Spider was my fun
Drove that Spider all around
Man I covered a lot of ground!

Now we stay at home all day
Gonna fix that too, that's what I say.

That Alfa Spider was my pride
A pretty girl was at my side
Her and me we led the pack
Will those top-down days come back?

I ask myself "What's wrong with me?"
"Just get in, turn the key."

Now keep your MGs, Triumphs too
A Mazda Miata just won't do
Porsches are made for fools I fear
A Mercedes SL is way do dear

But an Alfa Spider works just fine
An Alfa Spider, just like mine

My wife sometimes complains that I love the Alfa more than her. I tell her that's not true- I love you both the same.

Cleaned the spider up and checked her over top to bottom and front to back. Fresh oil and filter and new safety inspection sticker too. Heading to Hershey PA tomorrow AM early with my son for the cars & coffee and the hill climb at the Hershey Elegance.

Got the dreaded biannual smog check done. I am always nervous when getting the vehicles checked cuz you never know what is going to happen.... passed just fine! Good for another 2 years. Whew!

I had Koni Reds installed on my Spider last week. I picked the car up this morning and took a drive. I really like the feel of the car with the Koni’s.
