Some friends from Louisville were staying in the suite, and thankful for the tree preventing your car from entering their room. I'm glad the damage was so slight, it could have been much worse.

Towed 86 Spider #2 and spare engine from NC to TX. 8 hours behind schedule departing NC, a long but uneventful trip.

Still on the road from Nashville. Over 4500 miles( on the F250).
Yesterday stopped by Centerlinealfa for parts. Greeted warmly by the crew and given cold beverages as the day was hot. Rich put up my order and to my surprise I had sold him used parts when he was in Michigan. Put in a long day today, over 600 miles. In Idaho tonight and we hope to make home tomorrow
Cheers, Jon

I decided to reupholstered my door panels ( door cards ) since my wife noticed the original piping was falling off and the bottoms were in bad shape.

I then decided to make all new backing without map pockets, I used white board backer board since its water resistant and the correct thickness.

My wife offered to make new piping as I did everything else...

She never found her piping foot for her machine to make them nice and tight, so here they are without piping, but installed none the less.

I failed to take a before photo but I did lay the old next to the new panel before final install!

Fixed a lingering issue with my signal light not working when the parking lights are turned on. Turns out the light socket pigtail was wired in reverse.
Also glued closed a crack in the windshield washer bottle; and with the fix last week to clean out the gucky sludge in the wiper linkage and motor, I now have a faithful windshield cleaning system.
Next stop: replacing the fuel injector washers. I think the fuel system is running too rich b/c of air seeping around the washers. May as well replace the fuel injector supply hoses while I'm at it!

I have finished reupholstering the second seat and both look great. I ordered a new carpet set from Lakewell yesterday. The cam cover is off for the head gasket replacement. I can't figure out how to turn the engine to get the timing chain master link in the right place. I'm getting excited to have my old, now new, 87 Spider Veloce back!

Billj use a socket on the crank nut and just turn it clockwise until the master link shows up between the two cams. Don't worry about the motor being TDC. once the master shows up, detension the chain, remove master link, and remove the chain. DO NOT TURN THE CRANK until you have secured the Liners. Remove the exhaust mani and spica lines to injectors, and remove the clamps at the bottom of the spica intake mani that secure the fuel lines. Take off the head bolts and remove the head. SECURE THE LINERS using PVC pipe and washers. Now set motor to TDC. clean everything up, etc etc, set cams to timing marks with #1 lobes pointing outwards, replace head gasket, etc etc

Found out my driver side bumper is loose from the back side mounting rivets being broke.

I need advice on how to remove the side mounting bolt near wheel well.

Any advice would help!
