Drove to the local shop and bought the M-I-L her daily newspaper...just because. You have to take advantage of every blue sky day you get this time of year.

Took a picture of my 1966 Duetto engine compartment around 4 am this morning to make a list of what I need to make original looking.
I can research during my lunch time.
I need smaller romabloks for the heater hoses. I have 19s, but the repro hoses are slightly smaller OD to seal properly. I had major leaks.

Then I spent 45 minutes cleaning the passenger side engine compartment for my 74 spider with rubbing compound to help determine what areas of the Alfa will get repainted.

Driver side will need to be stripped and repainted due to the previous owner's battery vomitting acid.

Still got to work by 6am.

Disconnected the factory radio and installed a bluetooth amplifier. Connected it to the factory plugs and now I can play anything from my phone through the Spider's speakers, (which have been upgraded), and keep the factory radio look.

all I did is order more parts, ha!
Don't have enough left to put a second "ha" on the end of that one.

BUT when complete, I can sit and drink some coffee at "the side of the road cafť" while touring the Rockies.
Hey, I can dream until then!

Received my parts from APE, so now I have an oil pump to go with the Alfetta oil pan.

Masked and painted the "Sport Sedan" grill I am using on the Dio.
Semi-matt black for all the area that is not visible polished chrome when viewed from the front.
A petty task but I'm hoping it slows or eliminates further corrosion of the fins and is a nearly invisible mod unless you look very closely.

Twin-Cam Hemi, Webers, Headers, Overdrive, Disc brakes, and no emissions equipment to spoil it all. These are gonna be FUN rides!

The '76 spider has been showing 225 and over after an autocross run - even with the new aluminum radiator from Wes Ingram. My laser pyrometer shows progressively lower temperatures from ahead of to behind the thermostat housing, and even lower at the radiator header tank.

First, replaced the temperature sending unit since it was probably original. Next, boiled the existing 160 degree thermostat and found it doesn't begin to open until after 175. Changed to a new 160 degree T'stat, and verified it opens at that temperature.

The last autocross of the season is Sunday and will see how the temperature runs. If still hot, maybe the gauge is lying and I will try changing to an old temp gauge.

We made it safe! Lots of wind / tree type damage here in my area. It was a Cat 3 rather than the Cat 4 as thought it would be. It took a 'wobble' in our favor to the east, which put the eye about 30-40 miles offshore. So about 37-47 miles from my house. Frances and Jeanne were bad 11 years ago. This time we got lucky. But north of us, especially the Jacksonville area beaches, blahhhhhh
Here,,,,,,,,, we dodged a serous bullet. And we all know we're lucky today.

In the middle big a head job and about to start the shim procedure. Considering bother little low cost tweaks such as .012 .014 lash and 3 deg extra exhaust overlap to increase scavanging. Anything else?

Bolted wheels to the Spider rear axle to check the Dio Tipo body fit.
I have room to spare.
Now to get the 15"x 7" and do it again.

Still trying to locate a suitable timing wheel so that I may find the profiles of my cams.
