Mechanic in TN / NC

Hello Group,

I have recently moved to the Knoxville, TN, area and I will be looking for a good mechanic who knows Bosch injection. Any suggestions are welcome and greatly appreciated as my '84 S3 is running really rich.

Many thanks in advance!

David

I now live in NE TN near Johnson City and am researching Alfa mechanics in the area. So far I have found the following: Stuart Doane Ringgold, GA 607-222-8297, and also Roadspeed garage Cleveland, GA and this one,https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-G...51144848384513. I have found some others. Maybe try removing the injectors and fuel rail and send to OKinjectors.com in OK. Mine are on the way back as I write this.

I use The Sports Car Authority in Matthews (Charlotte). I've been well please with the quality and value of their work. My '84 looks beautiful, starts reliably, and runs like a champ.

Hope that's helpful.

If Charlotte is not too far away there is also Alfa Import Center Home Page. Looks like they can pretty much do it all. Good luck.

A failed O2 sensor will put you in constant enrichment mode.

If you were willing to drive to the "Tri-Cities" (1.3 hours away from Knoxville) Id recommend "European Autosport" on Fulton Ave in Kingsport TN. Their usual fare are German Marques (Audi/BMW/Mercedes) but their owner and head mechanic were Alfetta/164 guys back in the day and they are honest (Most important) and un-afraid to work on Alfas. They work on my daily driver (Audi) and have given some advice/help with my Alfas. So I wouldnt hesitate to go there for any issues, plus... Bosch injection is well "German" design.

Best of Luck
Martin.

David,

Keep us posted if you do find someone qualified in the Knoxville, TN area.

I too have a general need from time to time for my S1 or S2.

Smoke checked all vacuum lines and induction system for leak (found one). Replaced all fuel lines including to and from the gas tank. Compression check, all good. Head bolt retorque Completely went thru Bosch fuel injection checked all sensors, throttle position sensor, mass airflow, etc, etc. and found fuel regulator was bad and one injector.

I asked if he could pretty much do whatever I might need in the future and he said yes, tranny, clutch, A/C convert, etc.
