#6 fuse blown.. '73 Alfa Spider

have the Same problem with my 1973 Alfa that's been discussed in another thread.. #6 blown fuse.. but i don't have a spica fuel injected system(as the other thread had listed) in my Alfa, the PO switched it to carbs...So.. now what?..

Here's how this all got started..originally the car would start.. I checked the main fuses..and notice the #5 fuse was blown... replaced..it made no difference. engine was turning over fine ( i realized later that the Fuel pump fuse (seperate box beside the trhe main fuse box) had also blown.. I replaced it and warmed the car up... then took it for a drive .. got about a block and the gen light came on full,, # 6 blown.. now what?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer...

The #6 fuse powers the dash warning lights, reverse lights, gauges and the fuel cutoff solenoid. Since the car now has carbs, a possible suspect for the short could be the now disconnected fuel cutoff solenoid wire. It should be a white wire somewhere in the vicinity of the distributor.
If you'd like a color wiring diagram for your Spider, please send me your email address in a private message and I'll send it to you.

...and welcome to the BB!
