111,000 on my 1986 Grad when I bought it 2 years ago. Now has 122,000. Just drove it round trip from Albquerque to Amarillo by morning, about 600 miles total. Gets over 300 miles to a tank o gas. Hums right along at 75 to 80 mph.
Runs around 194 degrees according to the temp gauge on the highway at speed, ambient air temp in the mid 90's. Voltmeter indicates 13 volts. Turn on the AC and it drops below 12 volts for a while, creeps back just over 12 volts. This happens everytime the fan kicks on. The temperature will go back down to ~175 degrees, (according to the inaccurate temp gage).
Looking at steam table, with a 13 psi radiator cap, and about about 15 psia, water would boil around 250 degrees F. The car runs fine otherwise, so I'm not going to really worry.
More of an issue is the charging of the battery when the electric fan kicks on. Anyone know where the electric fan and AC ground are physically located under the hood? I'm thinking of changing the connectors since this helped eliminate the alt light glowing.
