rear limiting straps

Hey, y'all - - It's getting about that time - need to replace those ratty limiting staps on my speeder. Has anyone ever considered using (or used, for that matter) some other type of material other than the OEM fabric stuff? Seems like a heavy-duty nylon/rubber strapping of some sort should work and be more durable. Thoughts??

That OEM fabric stuff is not commonly available these days, but I do have something visually identical on my car which looks as though it's got rubberised canvas in it, or something like that. Alfaholics (and others) sell a strap made of a green webbing material that does look a lot more durable.

I've got repro ones from AlfaStop on the spider but a few years ago used industrial conveyer belt for the Berlina, cut into the right width strips with a guillotine. It almost identical to the original material.

Dear Alfisti,

I sell reproduction rebound limit straps on ebay from time to time. The single strap a side sets are ones I mainly sell now. My straps are almost impossible to distinguish from the original OEM Pirelli straps. My straps even are of a honey color.
