Call Dean at Trail Auto, he has the correct fitting hose

1990 and newer spiders use a totally different hose. Putting a hose on a 1989 and older is a piece of cake compared to a 1990 and newer. I have 3 different hoses or better said, hoses from 3 different vendors and they all are too tight to go on the water pump end in my opinion.
As mentioned, hot water and lubricant should usually do the trick but that should not be the case. I call ******** on this one. Someone needs to make a hose that fits better on the water pump end.
Obviously this has been an issue for many years.
I am still running my old hose because i just haven't felt like trying to put a new one on again.

Thanks Pantera928! After working on this again this evening I am wondering if I should take the AC compressor off? I finally got the hose over the lip of the water pump, but cant get it on enough to get a clamp on it. Has anyone used a heat gun and got this to work? Not sure if that is a good idea or not. Thanks for your responses.

I used a heat gun to warm up the rubber as well as a bit of spit on the inside of the hose and the fitting to help it slip on.

Takes patience.

Good luck,

Vin

Honey, this is the last thing I have to do, then I'm finished. It'll just be a minute.

Love the spit idea, maybe a spit-soap combo!!?? Spit will make the soap slippery-er without allowing it to run all-over and then also make the grip slippery!!! Now to go find some heavy mucus spit...maybe a lively bull dog??!! LOL
