Question How Does A Rear 55mm Badge Fit On A 69 Trunk Lid

Hi,
I have a 69 roundtail, which when I purchased it had no badges on the rear. Any original holes in the trunk lid have been filled in and painted. It was easy to find the holes for the ALFA ROMEO script and I know I should also have a 55mm circular ALFA ROMEO MILANO badge above it. Because of the inner skin at this point I cannot see if there was originally a couple of holes there for a rear badge with pins. So my first question is was the original badge the one with 2 pins on the back and if so how was it fastened as there is no access to the pins when the badge is installed. Second question is if the badge is merely glued on with no pins what is the best adhesive to use?
many thanks for any help, Steve

You need the two stud type badge. There should be two holes in the trunk lid to accomodate the studs. There are two clips (for lack of a better word) the push into the holes. The badge studs are pushed into the clips. Sorry, I cannot post pictures as I am not near any of my resources.

Steve,

I have the same problem- all the holes were filled in. Did you ever find out exactly where the holses should be?

In the end I installed a "1750" chrome script where the "Alfa Romeo" was originally. Apparently, the Euro spiders came that way and some US. I found the holes for that script OK. I couldn't locate the round badge holes so I just glued it with silicone. It looks good and has not worked loose in 6 months.
Ciao, Steve

Steve,

How far above the edge of the bootlid did you put the circular badge? Do you have a photo?

Thanks,

John

The bottom of the round badge from the trunk lid is 5.5". I have tried to insert a photo but can't get it to work. I'll try via a pm.
