$$$ for ECM?

How much should I be ready to pay for a EFI Spider ECM?

What car?
This is to convert the GTV to EFI.
I suppose '82-'86 would work.

I'll plug it into my spider next week to see if it works.

Do you know if it's for an L-Jet or a Motronic or does it matter. I need to know that to see if I need a CPS or not.

It is out of a 1985 US spec spider, I'll be able to post the numbers when I return home Sun night.

It matters greatly as the L-jet has a seperate Motronic box that handles ignition, while the full on Motronic system handles the injection and ignition all out of one box.

With the L-jet you can set up just the EFI and run a free-standing ignition of your choosing (including pre-electronic ignition stock stuff) but with the Motronic I'm pretty sure you'd be commited to using it for the ignition also as things in that system are so much more intregal to each other.

EG:

L-jet took an exisiting operational car and piggybacked an EFI and EI system on top of what was already there.

Motronic on the other hand was deliberately all built into the system from the get go.

If what Don has is out of an 85, then it's an early (S3a? LOL) L-jet injection control box that would have been part of a soliniod type VVT throttle position sensor setup.

If this fuel ECU doesn't work for Chris, I'm probably needing one ... 85 Spider with L-Jetronic and the solenoid-type vvt, so please let me know if it becomes available.

Happy to pay a reasonable price.

Thanks,

Graham

Chris, I installed the spare L-Jet ECU in my 1985 spider and the car will not
start, I cleaned the pins but it's still a no go.Now I know why the car I removed it from was in a bone yard. Sorry I could not be of help to you .
Cheers,

Ah well, it's just as well anyway, I'm thinking about taking the car to Wes and have the SPICA put back on.
Thanks anyway.
