I agree that mounting a car's battery in the trunk, behind the rear seat bulkhead, takes up valuable real estate. But for a street car, there's nothing wrong with just keeping it behind the radiator. The battery shelf was rusted away in the car in the photo, so I either had to restore the shelf or relocate the battery.
Nice install--reminds of the Austin Healey 100 I had. Batteries forward of the rear axle, with some sort of a hatch to cover them.

My '67 Ti has the exact same battery location as in post 17. Summit Racing has a very nice aluminum battery tray that fits the Optima Red perfectly.
