Upper rear corner of the firewall, passenger side. I've seen them on hanging pedal cars, not sure if on floor pedal cars.

I had two Nuova conversions (to earlier style outside) that had those. Perhaps some emissions plate? Ne er saw them on a 72-74 unificata.

thanks Alfanuts. Seems like consensus is a type of emissions or tax ID plate for the later hanging pedal Supers.

its a "Targhetta di omologazione", in upright form.
I suppose what we'd call an italian DOT type approval plate

the orange sticker, for example is on a Monty.

aha! Like it meets the Italian DOT safety and any other rules. Gottcha. So, say without one, no license plate will be issued....

The Ispettorato Generale Motorizzazione (IGM) evolved into the Direzione Generale Motorizzazione (DGM) in 1967. So, pre-'67 cars have IGM numbers and post-'67 cars have DGM numbers. I don't know when the plates changed and/or how many versions of DGM plates or stickers were made over the years.

Hmm, my 1969 Super has IGM and 1971 Super 1300 has DGM. Anyone here with 1970 car?

I probably should have been more precise in expressing my thinking: Cars homologated pre-'67 have IGM numbers, and homologated post-'67 cars have DGM numbers. Additional IGM and DGM numbers can be found on lights and/or light lenses, windshields, etc -- all of which had to be homologated (certified) as well.
