This is the "I want a Giulia Thread" with Links to threads of folks looking for them, or for selling them, or even just fantasizing about them. Info taken from this folder (Sedans) back to 1/1/2011, and from the For Sale/Wanted folders back only to July 2011.

Also look in "Roll Call" file above as lots of new acquisitions show up there.

In preparing this, some eyeball stats: as many Berlinas as Giulias moving. Three to four times the "rare" roundtails as Giulias. Mostly post 105 cars on For Sale ads about 8:1.

Note: all the below are linked to the source post. (MO/DY/YR, newest on top)

I believe wipers on your 1600S are original, there is hook-end arms right?

Yes that ebay Ti seems to have straight-cut arms which are later, about '70-> (?) I have wire frame Carello wipers too on my '69 Super, but I have swapped them from '72 car. Originally (at least when I bought it) I had hook-end arms with unmarked(aftermarket) wipers.

A Spica engine will have about the same overall performance as a properly set up Weber engine, but I like the Spica to tinker with, it's very smooth, no flat spots or roughness, starts and idles smoothly, gives good gas mileage, and is generally cleaner emissionsly if that matters to you or your whereabouts.

My Spica cars over the years have been almost completely trouble-free (in the Spica department at least) and pulled like trains, including 10+ years of track use in 2000 GTV. I'm a big Spica supporter.

Thanks Andrew, Ok sounds very good. Some persons here in Finland have told me that Spica means troubles, but I think it is just for the reason it is very unknown system here. Actually I have bought one awhile ago, altough it's 2000 version, and have to say it's just you said, works like a clock:)

I know the fellow but have been out of town for 1 1/2 weeks and not back for another week. It is a very honest car; I looked it over closely for him before he decided to sell. He was hoping for $15k but this was at the lower range expected.

#24 ·
The seller talked to me about it some too before selling, and this is the price range we figured it might go for. I hadn't planned to bid on it, but a friend became interested. Without having seen it in the flesh it was a bit of a gamble, but it seemed like an interesting, honest car. Someone got a nice item I think.

Gulias (and to some extent Berlinas) have become in demand all over. In Europe top Guilias sell for € 12.000 + . Check this 1300 TI upgraded with a 2000/131 HP engine and rear axle with LSD FIAT ePER

Re. fuel supply, I'm sure that early Spica Alfa models produce more or less the same power as one with tween double carburetors *) - that was Alfa's aim the they went to the trouble developing the Spica FI system. But carburetor feed Alfas are just as reliable as Spicas; both systems just have to be rebuild when in need. My Spider 1750 with Webers don't smell and is tested to 3,5% CO in the exhaust gas - the limit introduced sometime in the '70s. I'm sure, though, that a Spica feed Alfa's CO level is lower. Trouble outside North America is that only few have the knowledge to set up a Spica system properly and parts have to be imported from the US.
Erik
*) But after 1976 US Alfas (and other Euro cars) lost lots of power gaining cats and other emission control systems.
