He's had the car years and its always driven fine and sounded fine, although he doesn't drive it much.

I had the same issue with the bushings I bought...

I had the same issue with the bushings I bought being undersize. After much research I ended up using retaining compound (loctite green). Still holding strong about 6 years later.
