You can't re-use rivets anyway. You need to replace them with new ones. A decent pop rivet set with 1/8" diameter rivets (that's the size you need) can be had for under $20.

I'm not sure why you removed the vinyl covering the front bow, but perhaps it was shot. Either way, I'd purchase a new remnant of similar black vinyl from a local fabric store and just cut it to fit...
