Unless a judged event has been added in the last year or so, the Alfas are not judged at the Concorso. I've seen Ferrari use the event to judge cars, but not Alfa.

I'd take it as is and enjoy...

I'm not sure if things are exactly the same on your '71, but on the '69, the fuel pump fuse is in a small, 2-fuse box near the steering column. The other fuse is for the fog lights on a GTV. Power...

Great looking 4C!

My lifts are drive-on only but they came with a jacking plate that slides the length of the runners. It is easy to do wheel-off work, but it takes more time compared to a...

So I bought my first brand new Alfa last month and I've got to say, I really like this car. I've owned 15 Alfas over the last 37 years and the 4C is very much a real Alfa. It has much more...

I think there is a gap in the serial number sequence. The '69 run begins at about 1530000 and ends up around 1531250. The '71s begin around 1532000 and go up to 1533200 or so.
This is based on...

Agreed, but I like numbers! And, production was much lower than the 1600 GT Veloce - of which about 14,000 were made.

Kind of a fun thread for us GTV geeks. A couple observations:

1. According to my respective owner's manuals, the '69 weighs 2292 lbs, while the '74 weighs in at 2305 lbs. The difference is about...

For those of you that read the Hagerty Insurance magazine, there is a nice article about Rich, aka "gprocket" here on the BB, and his restoration shop in Warren, MI. Well done Rich!

Hi Steve, I think you crossed up a few digits. The car is indeed a '69 USA GTV. It rolled down the line 14 cars after mine, which was made on March 13th, and arrived in the US in April of 1969. ...

Personally, I like the early dash too and I think it would be a cool custom touch. Also, you will pick up some extra interior space. A quick search of Classic Alfa's website turned up this:

Sure, early "series 2" Spider Juniors had the metal Duetto dash, so it is possible. However, I believe the radius along the bottom of the windshield is different, so you'll most likely need to...

Hi Rob,
A '71 with Spica is a US spec car. Your clutch & brake pedals should hang down from under the dash and you should have one booster with the master cylinder mounted directly to it. The...

I've never needed to drill the second hole on my Spiders. If the locating pin is too long, you can always trim it a bit. I agree that welding a nut behind the big hole is a great idea. You can...

I found this code back in the mid '80s and have used it on 5 or 6 Duetto resprays. It is a perfect match for the orangy red, not the darker red some early Duettos wore. See if your paint guy can...

Hi Fred,
PPG code I have is 71844. I've used it several times and is a perfect match for a '69 Spider red. I think the earlier Duettos are the same. Mix some up and see what you think.
Cheers,...

The Duetto interior red was brighter and lighter than the '69 and later burgundy. Perhaps not quite as bright as the seats pictured. Also, the burgundy vinyl is mottled with lighter and darker...
