Just talked to Larry Sr. (I'm assuming) so they are still around. What a hoot! Would love to sit down one day with a cold-one to listen to his stories and pick his brain. Nice to talk to someone in the parts business with a such a personality and happy attitude!

I first met the two Larry's back in 1974, and they were major used Alfa parts dealers then. And really interesting people too. They are icons of Alfadom!

Been dealing with Larry n Larry since the 80's when it was out of their garage.
Seriously, think about dealing with Alfa guys for 30+ years, just let it sink in and marinade for a spell...
ok, now breathe and be happy they are both still enthusiastic about it
cheers

Like Peter, I've dealt with the Larrys since roughly 1985 when they were working out of their garage on the Peninsula and Larry Jr was literally a kid. They have been great to me, parts I needed, horsetrading, you know it. Larry Jr is very capable at rebuilds, machining, remanufacturing, and has been in with Conrad, me, and others on any number of crazy projects, usually late at night and for no money. I'll a big supporter.

I am sorry to hear this news. Last I knew he was 93 and still going strong. My best wishes to the family.

Maybe the 'APE' in APE DIRECT isn't an acronym.

The correct site is Alfa Parts Exchange not APE Direct.

I bet you just spoke to Larry Jr. I had a fast-moving and hilarious conversation with him today since his father, Larry, wasn't there, over a top boot and all the associated widgets for it I'm trying to get. Hands down, this is the best source for reasonably priced parts I've found, and the banter is great, and on the house. I too, was pretty confused when I hung up until I gathered my wits again.

I recently spoke to Larry Sr. and he did not say anything about retiring.

I suspect Larry Sr will be trading Alfa Parts with St. Peter too. I also hope that is a long way off!
