So the continued efforts on the cataloging.

Every part needs to be accounted for cataloged and I.D. for re-chroming, rebuilt or sourced for new.

Look at the tail light buckets. You think someone at the factory was having fun?

Well, seeing that I can't go down to "zagato parts emporium" and pick up a new trunk floor. We will be making one.

Look at the very cool tubular framing.

It took forever to Ohm out every switch and get the dash out!

Yes that bulb on the tail light is mounted outside the light bucket. And it shines though a little glass window.

This was a light weight space age reflector on that bulb.LOL

It's loosing weight by the minute!

Thanks for looking!

I noticed in your photos that you haven't removed the front & rear glass. This reminded me of a conversation I had long ago with the owner of a Flaminia Zagato S.2(the one I shoulda bought 25 years ago).He told me that Zagato utilized an arcane method for installing the front & rear windshields and that it was highly risky to ever remove the glass. Izzat why the glass is still in?
The same Lancisti also told me that new parts were available from Zagato. He was able to purchase a new front grille for his S.2.Granted his acquisition occurred some time ago but if Zagato is still in business it never hurts to ask.

Zagato till exists, but as far as I am aware, only as a design and prototype house. They no longer really do restorations. I am sure they can make any part you want, but it won't be cheap.

These cars are beautiful., but EXTREMELY labor intensive to do right.

The front glass is out. Very slow going. It took the better part of the day. Nerves ran hi today.

The inside is almost gutted.

The restoration side of things at Zagato is handled by the Gran Turismo company in Milan

Do you have a website address? I know Galbiatti, which was in Rho, not far from Zagato themselves, no longer exists.

Flaminia Zagato

I found these pictures of a Flaminia Zagato on the American Lancia Club site. This seems to be a series 2, but with covered headlights, and a 3C engine. Note the external filler cap for the gas tank. Somewhat unusual, but as these were all hand built it is not surprising to see differences.

Very nice! Thanks for the pictures. I'll have the owner look at this.

Thats a pretty cool lift- does it work off a shop compressor or is it self powered? Looks like an air line running to it...pretty specialized tool (and pricey, I'd wager) for a rank amatueur like myself, but it would be nice to have such a lift in my garage! Keep up all the great posts, Daron!

Hi Dan. This a cool tool! It's mobile! Its 1200.00. And it's self contained. The hydraulic pump is plugged into 110 volts. But I like it because I can move it to the outside, or anywhere in the shop.

The motor is out and at the engine builders shop.

Next, Jay will get the suspension out and take it to Group Two for a complete restoration.

Jay got the transaxles out late today. But this thing has to come out in layers. Here's the lower section of the rear.

And the only thing holding this in, is four very rusted bolts.

And the rest of the rear went to the suspension specialist today.

What is funny here is that this rear end has a dip stick. Went mounted in the car you couldn't get to it!
