has anyone gone online and placed a reservation for the "Prima Edinizone"? I thought about it but then decided to wait until we get an Abarth in.

at least I HOPE we get Fiat. since we won't know until next month if we get a franchise, nothing is set yet, but our owner is VERY optimistic....and VERY excited!

I didn't check my email in time and missed out on the first pre-sale. I'm now on the waiting list. I'm sure people will back out, but now that I'm looking at a picture of that white Abarth I'll wait.

The US Fiat 500 Abarth...How much horsepower? Try 170hp!

Looks like the US version of the Abarth is going to be a little monster. 170 HP as opposed to 135 in Europe. Should compare more favorably to the Cooper S.

On a lark I called 8 of the biggest Chrysler dealers where I live (1 hr east of NYC) and asked if they were going to become a FIAT dealer. The lack of knowledge from the management that I spoke to was shocking. Not a single manager knew when they were going to set up the FIAT area. Several said the cars would be in sometime in 2012. Most did not have any clue about the recent announcements from Chrysler nor did they have any idea how I pre-ordered one. I was told "the customers know more then we do" to which I replied "it's in the Chrysler press releases and on the internet". Is there any wonder why most of these dealers are suffering? I hope FIAT makes sure the dealers they choose are interested in the product. It may make for fewer dealers but it will make for a better buying experience

Hi,

Congratulations, YOU just created a new limited edition of the Fiat 500, the "Aparth". I really want one too, where can I order it?

Just kidding, the 500 Abarth, like in Carlo Abarth will be a killer........

Best regards

Hans

I know, I know. I get so excited that my thumbs disregard anything grammar and spelling. It sometimes amazes me what crap I write but hey, it is my second language ... Then again Abarth is probably a name closer to my mother tongue and I should really know. It's not that I have not owned one of his cars either ...

Speaking of which: Wouldn't it be ueber-cool if Zagato tried their talents on an Abarth Double Bouble, based on the 500/ MiTo platform? Say, limited series of 500, "priced for the enthusiast"? No idea on small series economics but that would be yummie ...
