Tom has passed away

Tom Magliozzi, Popular Co-Host Of NPR's 'Car Talk,' Dies At 77 : NPR
Alfisto Steve mentioned this in another thread but it passed without comment, so I am posting it up here. I "found" Click and Clack and listened to them darned near every Saturday morning for three years while restoring the Duetto. To this day if (well, when) I'm in the garage on a Saturday morning tinkering with my Alfas I will glance at the clock on the wall to see if it's time to tune in. It was the only NPR show I listened to and I feel like I've lost an old friend. His laugh truly was infectious.

Thanks for reposting Jim. I wonder if the newspapers will keep their paper article going. I usually read them on Saturday morning and catch them on NPR once in awhile as I usually away from radio at 10 a.m.

I was very sad to hear this too, and thought that my saturdays would never be the same. However, I've heard that NPR plans to continue playing older shows, and with episodes going back to around 1987, I think they have a lot of material.

I also learned that they haven't aired a new show in the last 2 years, due to Tom's advancing Alzheimer's.
