We were in CA a couple of weeks ago visiting friends in Pasadena plus Joshua Tree, Death Valley, Owens Valley. The desert was in bloom and it was beautiful. But I cannot say the same about the traffic around LA. I would not want to deal with that on a daily basis.

Yea, it's ugly. Sort of like the traffic in New York, DC, Boston, Chicago, .....

Here's a shot of the open space behind my neighborhood taken a week or so back.

But, are you picking on Nevada? Where else would you go for a legal brothel, in the US?

Nice picture Jay. It’s been green around our way lately for sure, amazing what a little rain can do.

To the post, as a foreigner living in SoCal and one who travels a fair bit (I’m writing this from Singapore...) I have to say it’s a great place and it does surprise me how much negativity some from other parts of the US show it.

So it rains in southern California who'd thunk it. I lived there three times. I guess it did rain couple times.

Lived in So Cal for a short while during one summer. Got really tired of the incessant/continual hot dirty/smoggy air, and the first time it rained in Oct while I was there, I went out and ran around in the rain, being from Seattle, you understand. The moss between my toes and fingers had dried out and died, lol. Luckily, I ended up going back to Seattle, and drove my Sprint GT up through Cal with the windows open, letting some rain come in. It was very refreshing for a change.

Northern Cal I can take, and some areas there are very pretty, but So Cal sucks, in my book. Well, maybe San Diego is halfway ok but the traffic from at least the Grapevine to S.D. is terrible, almost as bad as Seattle now, hah.

I grew up in southeast Los Angeles. Lived there until 1982. Moved to Seattle, hated it. Moved to San Diego for 28 years until the traffic and congestion drove me to central Arizona.

Finally I can legally own a 30 round magazine for my AR 15. Life is good here.

California is doomed. Open your eyes and pay attention. HOWEVER, it is amazingly gorgeous and much of the state has a fabulous climate. These two factors can make a person overlook the rot underneath for a long time.

If cuddling with an AR15 is your idea of a good life, your idea of liberty

I hope we don't cross paths. That's all.

The ABB really suffers when we get off the subject of hobby cars. That's all I have to say here. We are divided, and remain so. Why not keep the subject on common ground?

Point taken. A sense of humor helps. All of us likely agree on more than we disagree on.

Relax, we'd probably get on just fine.

Lol, the deer will end up a real mess if shot with the 30 round clip. My old hunter friend could get everything he hunted for with his old Springfield 30.06 bolt action. Never missed, and took only one shot. He just laughed at anything else. He did like my father's Weatherby 270 and 300 Magnums, though. Otherwise, he thought, toys for boys.

And had to laugh, when he was drafted out of college, this expert marksman ended up spending two years as a hematologist assistant in a hospital.

True.

The more divisive the better.

This is the way now.

Yes. I understand. Thank you.
