Volcanic Ash Department

What to do in a volcanic eruption with lots of ash?
In going through some old photos and stuff came across:

Emergency Car Care
For Volcanic Ash Fallout Areas

Four-page brochure published by:
FRAM, BENDIX,AUTOLITE

Mount St. Helens erupted violently in May 1980 and I would have picked up the brochure, likely at a service station in Vancouver.

So, if a Plinian Eruption goes off in your neighborhood, you know who to get in touch with.

Yes, it would likely blister the paint.
Somewhere in Montana there is an ash layer some ten feet thick.
Laid down by an eruption many hundreds of miles away.
Washington State has an interesting geological history.
One event was a massive outpouring of lava, over decades and thousands of feet thick.
One of the greatest in the world.
Near Spokane.
