THANKS all, and farewell for now!
Sold my '83 Spider a few weeks ago for a silly low amount....reinstallation issues with the transmission was the straw that broke this camel's back. I'd already more or less decided to sell once it was back on the road anyway, but even getting it to that point became more than I wanted to deal with.
It feels a bit weird to look at my very first post here back in 2007. It's been quite a journey. I've been through major electrical system repairs, various fuel system repairs, a transmission rebuild, replacement of numerous under-hood components, interior work, and countless other odds and ends. I have to say, despite all the little glitches and problems and repairs, I'm very glad for the experience. I did have fun with it, and I learned a LOT. Unfortunately I never quite had the funds or the facilities to properly restore my Spider, and now that I do, I'm ready to move on.
Anyways, it went to a middle-aged car guy who already has several "driver" restorations under his belt, so I'm very encouraged about the car's future. He's also not far from me, so I hope to perhaps see the car again once he's got it fixed up.
I'm probably going to get back into a Datsun Z car (my first automotive love, owned two 280ZXs years ago), but I won't say I'll never have an Alfa again. The BB here has been awesome, some of the sharpest and most helpful car enthusiasts I've come across. Thanks all of you for all the help and support over the years.
