RIP Ed King

Rock music fans lost a great guitarist last week - Ed King formerly of Lynyrd Skynyrd. I was fortunate to see him with the band when they toured England in 74 or 75, a time when I was photographing bands. I think that the venue was the Liverpool Empire. I recently watched a long video of an all star band that included Ed at the WC Handy festival in Florence Alabama and he could still play.

Too bad. RIP, Ed King.

FYI, a brand new Showtime documentary about Lynyrd Skynyrd was just released (see here) -- unfortunately, I missed its first showing on the cable channel by a couple of hours.

Thanks for the link. My ex brother in law, plastic surgeon, was on call in Jackson MS when the plane went down and he worked on some of the survivors.
